The project involved the rehabilitation of an existing marine jetty located within the Shuaiba power and desalination plant on the Red Sea coast, one of the major desalination facilities in the Kingdom.
The works were carried out to address severe corrosion and structural deterioration caused by the aggressive marine environment.
Scope included demolition of the damaged raft slab, installation of new sheet piles, construction of a new 500 mm thick reinforced concrete raft, and dredging and debris removal works to restore the jetty’s structural integrity and operational capacity for loads up to 6,000 tons.
