Challenges:
- Very deep excavation up to 55 meters underground for the metro box and the high ground water table
- Heavy equipment required to be lowered into the deep pit
- Complex permits and environmental compliance
Mitigation:
- Usage of diaphragm wall with multiple supporting levels and carefully designed deep well dewatering system
- Real time monitoring for both retaining system and dewatering setup.
- Develop precise lifting plans with high capacity cranes and utilizing backup safety systems.
- Implement dust control, ground water reuse and vibration monitoring in line with DGDA and Saudi Vision 2030 sustainability goals.
